Surgery

Thoughtful surgical care for dogs and cats, with comfort and clear communication at every step.

Surgical Care

Routine Surgery

We take great care to prioritize safety under anesthesia. We perform cautious pre-anesthetic screening based on your pets risk factors. Our anesthetic protocols are tailored to each patient’s specific needs. Our anesthesia team is made up of experienced and dedicated professionals who closely monitor anesthetic parameters throughout the procedure. These include heart rate and EKG, blood pressure, breathing rates, oxygen levels, and body temperature. Surgeries are faster, safer and more comfortable due to our use of advanced equipment such as radiosurgery, vessel sealing technology, and laser therapy.

Emergency Surgery

Our doctors have over 50 years of experience with emergency soft tissue surgery and prioritize accommodating these cases whenever possible. Our anesthesia team is highly trained and well prepared to monitor and stabilize these higher risk patients.

Whole-Pet Care

Integrative Support for Surgical Cases

We may recommend integrative therapies to support comfort, mobility, and recovery before or after surgery, based on your pet’s individual needs.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture helps to relieve pain, improve intestinal movement, and regulate blood flow to tissues. When medications are given at acupuncture points they can be effective more quickly, often at lower doses, to decrease side effects. Most routine injections that are part of our anesthesia protocols are administered at acupuncture points. Acupuncture needles can be placed to improve patient recovery when needed.

Ozone Therapies

For surgical cases we commonly use sterile ozonated saline lavage or perform Major Autohemotherapy to improve patient outcomes before, during or after surgery. Learn more in our “Ozone Therapies” section.
