Stabilization And Next Steps
Drawing from experience in veterinary teaching and specialty hospitals followed by decades of work in emergency and private practices right here in Volusia County, our two founding doctors are proud of the care we are able to offer in cases where your pet is having a serious or urgent health issue.
We provide emergency intervention and day hospitalization for most emergencies Monday-Friday, during business hours. We are not staffed overnight, so your pet will either be sent home at the end of the day or transferred to an emergency clinic if needed for overnight or weekend care.
A majority of patients can be stabilized then sent home for the evening to actually be able to rest at home and return in the morning for follow up if needed. Transfer to a local emergency clinic will be discussed for ill pets in need of continued oxygen support, seizure management, blood sugar monitoring, or other serious issues. We will always work with you to ensure you understand your options and are comfortable with their care.
